The Judges’ Section would like to welcome you to a new CBA year and update you on various activities and encourage you to get involved!
This year’s Section Executive Committee is a dedicated group of volunteer judges from all over the country and various jurisdictions, and we want to hear from you!
TIPS FOR MANAGING RESERVE JUDGMENTS
The Section is excited to announce the launch of a new Judges Member only resource “Tips for Managing Reserve Judgements”. Effectively and efficiently staying on top of reserve judgments is a challenge at all levels of court. Tips for Managing Reserve Judgments is a resource developed by the CBA Judges Section to provide guidance and direction for CBA member judges.
UPCOMING ACTIVITIES
- The Role of the Law and the Courts in Advancing Reconciliation – Join us on December 7 at 1:00 pm ET as the Honourable Paul Favel explores how laws, courts and government policy impacted Indigenous peoples and their relationship with Canada.
This judges-only webinar will be conducted in English and French with simultaneous interpretation. Unable to attend? Register today and gain access to an on-demand recording following the webcast.
STAY TUNED
- A “How To” webinar on the newly launched Tips for Managing Reserve Judgements Resource is planned for early 2023.
- Join us for informal opportunities to network, share ideas and ask questions about issues and hot topics – called “Under Reserve”! Each session will include a facilitator to lead discussion via Zoom Meeting. These programs are exclusively available (free) to CBA member judges and will be conducted in the language specified.
