Shaping Pensions and Benefits Policy and Practice
The CBA Pensions and Benefits Law Section is Canada’s leading association of pensions and benefits lawyers. We represent this area’s diverse interests. Our Section is the non-partisan voice furthering the knowledge of pensions and benefits law within the legal profession across Canada.
Our mandate is to:
- Review developing pensions and benefits legislation, standards and policy, and promote harmonization
- Facilitate dialogue on pensions and benefits matters among members of the legal profession, legislators, the judiciary, public policy organizations, employers, unions, retirees, pension plan members and the public
- Serve as an educational resource, and organize lectures and seminars on pensions and benefits laws, standards and policy
- Promote and undertake research on pensions and benefits law and related matters
- Advocate for pension standards reform
