The CBA Maritime Law Section serves as a voice and knowledge broker on all legal issues surrounding domestic and international maritime law and practice. This includes:
- Matters affecting shipping and navigation
- Canadian admiralty courts, including their establishment, jurisdiction, procedure and organization
- Marine commerce
- Transportation of goods and passengers by sea
Our Section liaises regularly with:

- Department of Fisheries and Oceans
- Canadian Coast Guard
- Federal Court Class Proceedings Committee

- Federal Courts Bench and Bar Committee
