Murray McKercher Professional Corporation is currently seeking to hire for the position of: May 2027 Lawyer

Job Requirements:

• Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario;
• 5 years experience considered an asset but not required;
• Excellent written and verbal communication;
• Ability to prioritize a variety of tasks and requests;
• Familiarity with computers and the ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Teraview, and other Law related programs;
• Polite, friendly and professional;
• Willing to learn and adapt;

Job Description:

• Working in the areas of agricultural law, wills and estate law, corporate law and real estate law;
• Corresponding with other lawyers and law clerks;
• Assisting our lawyers with on-going files; Working with our clerks with on-going files;
• Drafting various corporate documents and updating minute books;
• Managing and closing real estate transactions; Including preparation, approval and registration of transfers, mortgages and other real estate documents;
• Drafting agreements of purchase and sale for real estate and share transactions;
• Handling Small Claims Court files and/or Landlord and Tenant Board files;
• Estate administration;
• Preparing wills and powers of attorney;
• Meeting with clients;
