Lawyers working for change

As the leading voice for our profession, the CBA is committed to making a difference for Canadians and the rule of law in Canada.

This includes preparing court interventions, which are the culmination of teamwork and advocacy efforts.

The CBA occasionally applies to intervene in appellate level court cases that raise issues of compelling public interest or special significance to the legal profession. Our standard practice is to intervene only at the Supreme Court of Canada.

Our interventions bring our perspective to the issues before the court. Counsel act for the CBA on a pro bono basis. Intervention requests must be made in accordance with the CBA Intervention Regulation.
