Welcome to 2026! We’re excited to kick off what’s already shaping up to be a dynamic, energizing year for the IP Section, and we can’t wait to dive in alongside you.
Please mark your calendars for CBA IP Day and the Federal Court Judges’ Dinner on May 28, 2026, in Ottawa. This marquee event is a standout chance for members of the bench and bar to connect, exchange ideas, and spark new collaborations. Along with timely, expert-led panels on the most important IP issues of the day, this year’s program will include mentoring designed to bring practitioners at every level together for practical guidance, career growth, and peer-to-peer learning. Registration is open now and we’d love to see you there.
Our members continue to inspire with their dedication and impact. Recently, the IP Section – working with the Privacy Law, Equity Committee, and Legal Futures Sections – submitted a thoughtful response to the ISED Consultation on Artificial Intelligence Strategy. Across our committees, the momentum continues as we track developments and drive meaningful advocacy. As we move further into 2026, I want to wish everyone a year of bold ideas, collaborative wins, and continued excellence across the IP community.
