CBA Health Law Student Essay Contest
We’re also excited to announce our Health Law Student Essay Contest winner: Matthew Tse, and his paper “Applying Gladue to Psychiatric CARE: Systematic protection for Indigenous Mental Health”. Matthew C Tse is an associate at Olthuis Kleer Townshend LLP’s Toronto office, building a practice advancing Indigenous sovereignty, rights, and prosperity. He holds an LLM from the University of Toronto, as well as a JD, a BCL, and a BA from McGill University.
At the University of Toronto, Matthew held the Faculty of Law Fellowship for which he researched the relationship between Canadian and Indigenous legal orders. This essay draws on that research and is part of a broader project of his at the intersection of mental health and Aboriginal law, focused improving wellness and justice in Canada.
