Megan Tupper
Biography
Megan was called to the bar in 2014 has beenFamily Law since her articles. She is also active in the Edmonton Family Law community, having joined the Executive for the Canadian Bar Association’s Family Law North Section as the Legislation Review Officer in 2017. Megan has expanded her family practice to include collaborative divorce in 2017. Although Megan’s practice involves frequent court appearances, she has a passion for drafting and the written aspects of litigation. She looks forward to assisting clients in a manner that helps to meet each client’s specific needs and goals. Aachal N. Soll
Biography
Aachal enjoys practicing in the "people-focused" areas of law such family law, child protection, and administrative law.
Having received training for trauma-informed practice, family violence screening, and training for assisting sexual assault survivors, Aachal strives to be cognizant of the challenges often faced by the separating spouses who she represents.
She is grateful to be a Children's Lawyer and help children who get caught up in the legal system. She provides independent legal advice to youth who have been removed from their caregivers by child protection services and represents the youth at child protection trials. She can interview children and prepare Hear the Child Reports in family law matters to ensure that the court can consider the children's views when determining what is in their best interests. At the end of the day, while the judge makes the order, it impacts the children's lives and they deserve to be heard. She advocates for policy changes in family law and child protection so that the children are better supported.
Aachal is an avid volunteer with the Canadian Bar Association – BC Branch. She is the Yale Country Representative to the Provincial Council. She has been an executive member of the Women Lawyers Forum (WLF) – Kamloops Section since June 2015 and chaired the section for three years. She is presently a Co-Chair for the Family Law – Kamloops Section. She has chaired the CBABC Law Week Regional Committee and served on the CBABC Member Services & Engagement Committee, the CBABC WLF Retreat Committee, and the CBABC Equality & Diversity Committee.
As a member of the BC Family Law Working Group, she worked on the CBABC Submissions to BCLI on Modernizing the CFCSA and is currently involved in the CBABC submissions on the ongoing Modernization of the FLA project. Aachal is also involved in the National Family Law section and advocacy efforts to improve access to justice in family law.
Aachal loves getting involved in events at the law school at Thompson Rivers University be it at speaking engagements or mentorship. In the broader Kamloops community, Aachal has volunteered with the “Pit Stop Meals” lunch program through Kamloops United Church, been a member of the Family Tree board and volunteered with the local rotary club in local community events.
Outside of her profession Aachal likes to read (fiction - because who needs reality after a day of family law practice), snowboard (does once a year count?), and do yoga ... in the few breaths between mothering two little kids, running a full-time private practice and pro bono work.

Josephine W.C. Wong
Biography
Josephine obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia. She was designated a Wesbrook Scholar and awarded one of the university's Premier Undergraduate Scholarships. She later obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto and was called to the British Columbia bar in 2012. She has represented clients in the Supreme Court of British Columbia, administrative tribunals and various settings for alternative dispute resolution.
Josephine is a recipient of a number of national and international academic awards. Before joining Hayward Sheppard, Josephine represented clients for Downtown Legal Services, conducted research on sovereign wealth funds for the Ken Wiwa litigation and worked in the field of international humanitarian law including at the United Nations Development Programme and the International Criminal Court.
Josephine enjoys traveling and has spent time working in various cities in Europe and Africa.
Josephine speaks Cantonese and Mandarin.

Victoria E. Elliott-Erickson
Biography
Victoria Elliott-Erickson was called to the Bar in 1998. She is currently an associate with Zatlyn Law Office. Before joining that firm, she was General Counsel to the Prince Albert Grand Counsel. Prior to that, she was an associate with the law office of Pandila & Co. where she articled with the Honourable Judge Gerry Morin, Q.C. Her preferred areas of practice are civil law: including health law, education law, employment law, family law and aboriginal law and governance, all areas which allow for alternative dispute resolution and creative problem-solving. She is a collaboratively-trained professional. She has represented a number of non-profit boards including Health Authorities, Hospital Foundations, a Palliative Hospice Association and a number of Child and Family Service Agencies. She works with a number of First Nations. She is regularly called upon to assist with corporate governance, policy drafting, accreditation-related issues, and strategic planning.

Tanya M. Keller
Biography
Tanya M. Keller (formerly Johannesson) graduated with a LL.B. from the University of Manitoba in 2008. She articled and practiced as an associate at D’Arcy & Deacon LLP in family law and estate litigation for almost nine years until joining the firm of Sternat Manaigre Law Corporation in 2017. She practices mainly in the areas of family law, wills and estates planning, litigation and administration, residential real estate and child protection. Tanya has represented clients in all levels of Court in Manitoba. She has experience in dealing with divorce, common-law separations, child custody, child support, spousal support, property division, pre-nuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements, separation agreements, variations and has been trained in Collaborative Law. She has a special interest in the intersection of estate and family law. Before attending Law School, she completed her B.A. at the University of Winnipeg, majoring in psychology, and graduating with distinction. Tanya has been active in the community and enjoys volunteering for various organizations, including the Manitoba Bar Association where she is the co-chair of the Law Day Committee and Co Chair of the Women Lawyer’s Forum. She is a council member of the Manitoba Bar Association. She oversees the family law case summaries submitted to the Manitoba Bar Association’s monthly newsletter Headnotes & Footnotes, and the Legal Research section’s monthly newsletter Law & Library Monthly (LLM). The family law team at D’Arcy & Deacon LLP won the 2015 Headnotes & Footnotes award for those contributions. Tanya donates her time to various other community organizations. She enjoys mentoring law students and one of her favorite volunteer activities is supervising the drop in clinics at the Legal Help Centre. She also enjoys contributing her time and support to the Community Legal Education Association’s (CLEA’s) Lawyer Referral Program providing a free half hour consultation to client’s referred by that program and participating in the Speaker’s Bureau program providing presentations on family law to local schools. She also is Chair of the Training Committee for Collaborative Practice Manitoba. Tanya is the lucky mother to three loving little girls, a five year old and identical twin two-year-olds.

Katherine L. Shadbolt
Biography
I was called to the Bar in 1986 and have practiced in the area of family law and dispute resolution since that time. Until June 30, 2023, I was a partner at a mid-size full service firm in Ottawa, where I provided the full range of family law services to clients- appearing at all levels of Court- and providing mediation services as well. I now act as a mediator and am focused on giving back to the profession by writing/teaching and mentoring. Currently I am an advisor with the LSO's Coach and Advisor Network (CAN) and a mentor on the Advocates Society's roster. I also hold the position of CPD liaison on the OBA's Alternative Dispute Resolution Section Executive Committee for 2024-25.

Wayne A. Barkauskas, K.C.
Biography
Mr. Barkauskas was called to the bar in 1992 and practices family law exclusively. His past corporate law experience and degree in psychology are valuable tools in his practice. Mr. Barkauskas is also a qualified mediator and arbitrator in all areas of family law and is a proponent of the use of mediation and other alternative dispute mechanisms in appropriate circumstances to minimize the uncertainty, delays, and costs associated with litigation. He is a registered Collaborative Law Lawyer and a Registered Parent Coordinator as well. In addition to his training in alternative methods of dispute resolution, he has extensive Court experience in all levels of Canadian Courts in several Provinces, and in other jurisdictions such as the United States, Europe, Asia and South America. Mr. Barkauskas is a past National Chair of the Family Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association, is a Past President of the Alberta Branch of the Canadian Bar Association, and has served on government committees concerning changes to the Divorce Act, changes to the Alberta Rules of Court, and for the appointment of new Judges. Mr. Barkauskas has often been an instructor of family law for lawyers continuing education programs. He has also taught negotiation skills and family law to new lawyers, and has taught mediation and arbitration courses both in Canada and internationally. He sits on the Board of other community organizations as well and is an appointed Dispute Resolution Officer for the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta.
