This plan is intended to anticipate interruptions to normal operations of the firm, such as damage or loss of access to office space, data corruption or loss, or loss of key personnel. The overall goal of this plan is to establish methods of continuing business operations while undertaking efforts to restore normal conditions.
This plan should address any preparations required in order to execute it. For example, if the plan depends on restoring backup data, it should address the method of creating and maintaining that backup data.
This plan is not intended to address other actions that may be required, however. For example, in the event of a fire, this plan should address how to continue operating without office space and how to restore business systems once office space has been reestablished, but not how to reestablish the office space.
