Ottawa, February 26, 2026 – The Canadian Bar Association is pleased to announce that Robyn Trask of British Columbia has been elected to the position of Vice-President for 2026-2027. She will serve as CBA President the following year.
Robyn has been legal counsel to the BC Labour Relations Board since 2024 and is currently in a temporary role as a Vice Chair. Previously, she was General Counsel for the BC Teachers’ Federation and, earlier in her career, worked with a Toronto litigation firm and completed her articles with a national union in Toronto. Her practice has focused on labour, human rights and constitutional litigation, and she has represented clients before administrative tribunals and at all levels of court, including several cases at the Supreme Court of Canada. She has also worked on international initiatives, primarily with legal organizations in East Africa.
At the CBA, Robyn currently represents National Sections on the Board of Directors. Her past roles include Chair of the CBA Sections Subcommittee, Chair of the CBA National Labour and Employment Law Section, and Co-Chair of the BC Branch’s Labour Law Section.
Robyn Trask will assume the role of Vice-President in September 2026, when current Vice-President Loreley Chekay, K.C., of Regina becomes President, and will succeed her as President in September 2027.
