What are education credits?
Education credits are granted with the purchase of Portfolio (a value of $250) or Portfolio Plus (a value of $500). Credits can be applied towards the purchase of eligible programs offered by the CBA.

What can I use my credits on?
Credits can be applied to a variety of eligible in-person and online CPD accredited programs, including conferences, webinars and on-demand sessions offered by CBA National, CBA Branches and CBA In-House Lawyers.

How can I check how many credits I have?
There are two ways to check your education credit balance,
- Click on the Register Now button of any CBA accredited education program. On the registration form, scroll to the section titled Education Credits which lists your available credits in the dollar amount. If you do not see this section on the registration form, you do not have any available credits to use.
- Navigate to Portfolio Options page. Your credit balance will be shown under Education Credits Available.

How do I use my credits?
On the registration page of an eligible program, select the Register Now button and sign into your CBA account. Fill out the registration form as usual, and under the "Education Credits" section, enter the number of credits you would like to use. Click the "Apply Credits" button to see the credits reflected in your total payment amount.

Can I use my credits for partial payments?
Yes, you can decide how many credits you would like to use when filling out a program’s registration form. Your credits do not have to cover the entire cost of a program. You can apply a lesser number of credits and pay the remaining balance.

Will my credits expire?
Education Credits work like a gift card and do not expire. However, because the program has been discontinued, we are asking all credit-holders to use their credits by May 2026.
