Kooh Law Professional Corporation is seeking Ontario counsel to join its immigration, refugee and Federal Court litigation practice on a contract basis. The practice includes Federal Court leave and judicial review applications, PRRA, RPD/RAD proceedings, IAD matters, inadmissibility and section 44 matters, sponsorship/refusal matters, removal-related litigation and immigration consequences arising from criminality. Federal Court experience is particularly valued.
The successful lawyer will receive assigned matters and work closely with principal counsel and the firm's practice coordinator. There is no requirement to bring an existing book of business. The position is primarily based at 120 Adelaide Street West, Toronto. Regular in-person collaboration is an important part of the firm's operating model, while court, tribunal and appropriate file work may occur elsewhere or virtually.
Kooh Law maintains a technology-forward practice using Clio, Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint/OneDrive, electronic filing and digital evidence management. Candidates should demonstrate technology fluency, disciplined file management, strong legal writing, judgment, organization and responsibility for assigned work.
Compensation is structured on a contract-counsel basis by reference to professional fees collected on assigned matters. Terms will be discussed confidentially with shortlisted candidates. Please submit a CV and brief note identifying year of call, current availability, relevant Federal Court/tribunal experience and matters you can manage independently.
