Key Objectives
As a Real Estate Lawyer at PassGo, you'll be responsible for:
- Reviewing and approving real estate contracts, mortgage instructions, and other legal documents.
- Providing legal advice and guidance to clients, real estate agents, and lenders.
- Resolving issues that arise during transactions, including breaches of contract, late closings, and funding challenges.
- Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements throughout the transaction process.
- Overseeing the preparation and execution of closing documents.
- Managing trust accounts and ensuring proper disbursement of funds.
- Reporting to clients, lenders, and other stakeholders post-closing.
Competencies
The ideal candidate will have:
- Extensive knowledge of real estate law and conveyancing practices.
- Experience with real estate platforms, including Unity, Lender Centre, and LLC mortgage instructions.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and PDF manipulation.
- The ability to handle complex issues, such as breaches of contract, late closings, and lender funding problems.
- Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
Education and Experience
- A law degree and membership in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta.
- At least 1 year of experience in real estate law, with a proven track record of managing transactions from start to finish.
