Family Law Associate

We are seeking an experienced Family Law Associate (2-3 years of experience) to join our growing team. At this time, this role will be 100% virtual, offering you independence and work/life balance.

As our firm experiences’ exponential growth, we are seeking an Associate that is able to carry their own files with a large degree of independence, possess an entrepreneurial spirit and a proven success in building positive client relationships 

To be successful in this role, you possess:

• Minimum of 2 years of family law experience including family litigation and negotiated settlements
• LL.B. or J.D. with a license to practise law in Ontario
• Membership in good standing with the Law Society
• In-depth knowledge of Family Law Rules
• Excellent knowledge of Divorcemate
• Experience and/or training in collaborative practice or mediation/arbitration would be an asset
• Excellent drafting skills
• Strong attention to detail, analysis and problem solving skills
• Ability to build rapport with clients, respond with empathy and practical advice
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Able to work collaboratively in a small team, as well as independently
• Most importantly, a passion for law!
