Reporting to the Office of the General Counsel, the Access to Information and Privacy Officer is responsible for implementing and supporting programs and practices which facilitate compliance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA), Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPPA), the Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), and other applicable privacy legislation, regulatory and contractual requirements. The Access to Information and Privacy Officer is responsible for providing advice and consultative support to academic, administrative units and senior management of the University on their obligations related to compliance.

Education, Training & Credentials

  •  Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as public administration, law or information management. Professional certification in privacy and access. Please note: Requires the candidate to produce a verification of degree(s)/ credentials(s).

 Experience

  •  Four years of related experience to lead privacy and access to information programs.
