The Opportunity
We are seeking a confident, motivated Family Law Associate with hands-on experience across the spectrum of family matters. You’ll manage a varied caseload, work directly with clients, and collaborate with senior counsel and a strong support team.
What You’ll Do
- Manage files from intake to resolution (agreements, negotiation, mediation, litigation).
- Appear at Motions, Case/Settlement Conferences, and assist on Trials where needed.
- Draft and review pleadings, financial statements, domestic contracts, and separation agreements.
- Provide strategic, client-centred advice on Divorce Act, FLA, CLRA issues (parenting, support, property).
- Prepare DivorceMate analyses and settlement briefs; assess risk, costs, and outcomes.
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced practice, meeting deadlines and file-management KPIs.
- Contribute to firm growth through quality client service and occasional business development.
What You Bring
- 3+ years of dedicated Family Law experience (including court attendances).
- Strong written advocacy and clear, empathetic client communication.
- Proficiency with DivorceMate (mandatory) and MS 365; familiarity with Family Law Rules and local practice directions.
- Sound judgment, professional maturity, and a team-first mindset.
- Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
