CCCA Mentoring Program Manager
The Canadian Corporate Counsel Association (“CCCA”) Mentoring Program launch provides members with a unique, curated mentoring experience that leads to greater career satisfaction and advancement for inhouse lawyers.
CCCA members are in-house lawyers working for corporations, business enterprises, associations, institutions, not-for-profit organizations, government or regulatory boards or agencies, Crown corporations, and regional or municipal corporations.
The CCCA Mentoring Program Manager, reporting to the Executive Director, is responsible for managing and delivering the program to CCCA members across Canada.
This a remote part-time position, with occasional in-person attendance for special events and conferences.

Tasks & Responsibilities
The CCCA Mentoring Program Manager will:
- Work with the Mentoring Committee to administer and deliver all aspects of the Mentoring Program.
- Recruit and match mentee and mentor participants for the Mentoring Program.
- Gather relevant information about mentees and mentors to facilitate effective and productive matches.
- Listen carefully to the expressed needs and preferences of mentees and mentors and clarify what they seek in their mentoring relationship.
- Coach mentees and mentors to enhance the likelihood of having a productive mentoring relationship (e.g. if new to mentoring, what to expect, best practices for effectiveness).
- Monitor mentees and mentors throughout the duration of their matching program.
- Promote the Mentoring Program to CCCA members in collaboration with the CCCA’s Marketing & Communications and Professional Development staff.
- Periodically review the purpose, policies and description for the Mentoring Program.
- Promote other benefits of CCCA membership and professional development opportunities (e.g., webinars; Boot Camp; Leadership Retreats; the CCCA-Rotman Business Leadership Program for In-House Counsel, etc.).
Knowledge & Skills
- Understand the purpose of the CCCA’s Mentoring Program, and the value of mentoring to mentees and mentors.
- Previous experience with mentoring, or coaching-related designation as an asset.
- Familiarity with various organizational structures within which in-house counsel work.
- Familiarity with the nature of the in-house counsel role and typical areas of practice carried out by in-house counsel.
- Familiarity with the roles of in-house counsel within an organization (e.g. sole legal officer, general counsel, etc.)
- Understanding of issues impacting in-house counsel.
Remuneration
Commensurate with experience.
