Description

Victory Square Law Office LLP is seeking to hire an associate lawyer for either our Vancouver or Victoria office with a suitable combination of experience and interest in working in labour, employment and human rights law.

Victory Square Law Office is a full-service law firm primarily focussed on the representation of unions and their members before arbitration boards, labour relations boards, and courts. However, we also provide extensive legal services and advocacy for individuals and organizations on issues with a public interest dimension.

We are seeking applications for a senior associate lawyer with 3 to 10 years’ experience who is interested in developing their skills as an advocate for workers. We welcome applications from lawyers with experience leading litigation files before courts or administrative tribunals. We offer a competitive salary range between $131,000 and $187,000, commensurate with experience, 4 weeks’ vacation, and a strong benefits package including a pension plan. VSLO lawyers also have great opportunities for growth and professional development.

The successful candidate will gain extensive experience representing clients as lead counsel before various tribunals and levels of court, as well as assisting as junior counsel on complex files.

Victory Square Law Office offers flexible work from home arrangements.

The successful candidate will receive extensive experience in a diverse range of legal issues assisting lawyers representing clients before various tribunals and levels of court, with a view to developing the skills to act as lead counsel.

The ideal candidate for either position will possess a demonstrated commitment to social justice issues, proficiency in legal research and writing, and a strong desire to build their skills as an advocate. Candidates must be members of, or to be eligible for membership in, the Law Society of British Columbia. Committed to attracting and retaining a diverse workplace, VSLO will honour your experiences, perspectives and unique identity. VSLO strives to create and maintain working and learning environments that are inclusive and equitable.
