Transactional Intellectual Property Committee
Mandate
- To focus on possible or proposed changes to federal industrial and intellectual property laws as they affect commercial transactions.
- To monitor laws in related areas involving intellectual property transactions including licensing and franchising, bankruptcy, and corporate commercial law.
- To direct attention and prepare briefs on possible or proposed legislation touching on the intellectual property aspects of commercial transactions.
- To liaise with the Trademarks Committee and other CBA Sections and Committees.
- To meet regularly, by conference call or otherwise, and to endeavour to meet in person, at the CBA Legal Conference.
- To participate and assist in professional development projects.
