Welcome back.
This is proving to be another busy and dynamic year. The Executive continues to monitor and respond where appropriate to legislative proposals, and continues to seek input and contributions from members on the development of our submissions. We also continue to engage with various government departments to provide input throughout the year, and we will also have our regular meetings with CIC, CBSA, HRSDC and others.
As a reminder, all of our submissions as well as various resource materials can be reviewed on the CBA National Immigration Law Section website.
The next National Immigration Law Conference will be at the Delta Grand Okanagan Resort in Kelowna, British Columbia, on May 3-5, 2012. The Conference Organizing Committee has been assembled and several of the sub-committees have been active through the summer setting the ground work for the conference.
Conference Co-Chairs in Kelowna will be Marie-Claire Le-Van-Mao (DOJ Co-Chair) and Marina Sedai (B.C. Provincial Chair). Kelowna is a beautiful destination set on Okanagan Lake and surrounded by wineries. It should prove to be another spectacular conference.
