CBA Speakers Bureau
We are pleased to announce the launch of an online platform designed to encourage individuals to step forward as speakers and moderators for our panels and conferences. This platform allows you to express your interest in presenting and or assisting, as well as to share the topics you would like to address or see addressed. We invite you to nominate yourself or encourage others who would make a valuable contribution to our events to nominate themselves. Additionally, if you wish to nominate someone for the spearkers bureau please contact CBAImmigrationLaw@cba.org.

If you’d like to contribute in a different way—such as writing an article, sharing your legal research, or supporting our professional development initiatives—please reach out to CBAImmigrationLaw@cba.org.
Speakers and moderators are selected based primarily on their subject matter expertise in addition to an equity, diversity and inclusion lens. Other considerations include regional balance and notable recent highlights in a particular subject matter (i.e. legal writing, caselaw, tech innovations, stakeholder presentations and initiatives (i.e. Parliamentary, Senate Committee).
- The CBA Speakers Bureau provides names and contact names to the Immigration Law Section Executive and others who plan our Professional Development programs. The Speakers Bureau is compiled through a registration process. CBA Staff will review the registrations received and inform the registrant if they have been accepted to the Speakers Bureau.
- Speakers, moderators and those assisting may also be directly identified by the Officers and or Executive.
- Speakers/Moderators benefit from discounted admission to the Conference.
- Participating as a speaker or moderator is a significant time commitment to ensure we maintain our high level of professional development at our conferences and professional development sessions. One can expect a number of meetings especially in the months leading to your presentation as well as preparation time.
- All speakers and moderators must be members in good standing of the CBA Immigration Law Section.
- All speakers and moderators are subject to all CBA Bylaws, Regulations and Operational Policies. In particular all members are subject to the CBA Principles of Conduct.
The use of this platform will help our team streamline interested candidates and topics as we prepare for our professional development moving forward.
A big thank you to Brunelle Lewis and the members of the ARC along with the CBA team for helping put this platform together for our section!
