Brad Regehr, the Board member from Manitoba, is has been elected to the position of CBA Vice-President. In his statement of intent for the job, Brad says he will further the work done by the CBA in access to justice, as well as in diversity and inclusivity.

Twila Reid, a partner with Stewart McKelvey in St. John’s, is the Board member from Newfoundland and Labrador.

As a participant in the Young Lawyers International Program with the Canadian Bar Association, I am now half way through my placement with the International Development Law Organization in Yangon, Myanmar.

OTTAWA – For her outstanding dedication and team spirit and for her genuine commitment to the CBA, Michèle Moreau, Director of Protection and Defense of Rights and Interim Deputy Director for Investigations for the Quebec Human Rights Commission, is being awarded the Douglas Miller Award. 

OTTAWA – In recognition of Justice Harry S. LaForme’s commitment to advancing the cause of equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and two-spirited people with the Canadian legal profession, the Canadian Bar Association is awarding him the SOGIC Ally Award.

OTTAWA – In recognition of Florence Ashley’s commitment to advancing the cause of equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and two-spirited people with the Canadian legal profession, the Canadian Bar Association is awarding them the SOGIC – Hero Award.  The award will be presented to Florence Ashley at the CBA’s President’s Dinner on February 12, 2019 in Ottawa.
