The CBA Air and Space Law Section sent a submission on Regulatory Modernization for Air Transportation to the Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA). The submission was prepared in response to the CTA’s Discussion Paper on Modernizing Regulation for Air Transport.

The CBA intervened in Iggillis Holdings Inc. v Canada (National Revenue) at the Federal Court of Appeal in Edmonton. Mark Tonkovich, Jacques Bernier, and Stephanie Dewey of Baker McKenzie appeared for the CBA in this matter of common interest privilege.

Former President René Basque travelled to Rome in September to attend a conference of international bar association leaders on privacy and security.

The CBA has long advocated for a greater commitment to bilingualism on the bench, particularly in the superior courts, as an access to justice issue. And with its announcement in late September of a new action plan, it appears the government is ready to make it happen.
