Like previous years, representatives of the Executive of CBA’s Pensions and Benefits Law Section are invited to attend a stakeholder dialogue with the Canadian Association of Pension Supervisory Authorities (CAPSA). The Executive will share ideas and discuss emerging trends and challenges in the pension sector and provide input on current issues in the meeting. The topics are chosen by the joint decision of the Executive and CAPSA. The following topics are selected for this year’s dialogue:
- Harmonization
- Annuity Purchases
- Un-located Beneficiaries
- Use of Technology in Pension Plan Administration
- Increased Plan Coverage (Auto-Enrolment)
- Trends and Risks in Defined Contribution Pension Plans
- CAPSA’s Strategic Plan (2019-2022)
The Executive would like to canvass input from Section members on the above discussion topics for the Executive’s consideration in preparing for their presentation to CAPSA. We are seeking input of general relevance and application (as opposed to advocacy for a specific client or matter). If you would like to share any ideas with us, please provide your input to Marina Ceclan no later than March 26, 2019.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Yours truly,
Sonia Mak
Pensions and Benefits Law Section Chair
