A new report released by the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) calls on the legal community, politicians and the public to become engaged and make a difference in redressing the imbalance in a world "thick in law but thin in legal resources."

On Sunday, Aug. 18, at the Canadian Bar Association Legal Conference in Saskatoon, the Access to Justice Committee will release its summary report Reaching Equal Justice: An Invitation to Envision and Act, to give CBA members a taste of what it’s learned about the state of access to justice in Canada, and what it recommends be done about it.

The Chief Justice of Canada, Beverley McLachlin, will now address the Canadian Bar Association’s national Council on Saturday, Aug. 17 at 8:45 a.m. in the Gallery BCD, at TCU Place in Saskatoon. Please note this time change over previously distributed information.

Newly appointed federal Justice Minister Peter MacKay will attend the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) Legal Conference next month in Saskatoon. He will deliver greetings at the Opening Plenary on Sunday, Aug. 18, and participate in a dialogue with CBA members on Monday, Aug. 19 at 1:45 p.m. at Saskatoon’s TCU Place, in Salon AB.
