OTTAWA – The Canadian Bar Association welcomes the federal government’s announcement of the members of the Advisory Board for Quebec that will be charged with selecting candidates to fill the seat on the Supreme Court of Canada bench left vacant by the resignation of Justice Clément Gascon.

CBA statement on Supreme Court hearings in Winnipeg

The Canadian Bar Association welcomes the Supreme Court of Canada’s decision to go hold occasional hearings outside Ottawa. The court announced on Monday that it would be hearing two cases, a criminal law appeal from Manitoba and a language rights appeal from British Columbia, this fall in Winnipeg.
