As you may be aware, in November 2017 the federal government tabled Bill C-66, the Expungement of Historically Unjust Convictions Act, as part of its apology to the LGBTQ2S community. The Bill allows those historically convicted of consensual same-sex activity to apply to have their criminal records expunged. The Section provided input on the Bill. Bill C-66 is now in force.
The Parole Board of Canada has established a procedure for the expungement of these historically unjust convictions; details on the application can be found online.
