REPORT FROM RECENT CBA SOGIC SYMPOSIUM
The CBA SOGIC Symposium took place on February 3, 2023. It was a resounding success with over 190 attendees. The theme of the Symposium was LGBTQ2S+ Rights in Canada: The Past, The Present, The Future.
Attendees heard from esteemed speakers and moderators, including barbara findlay, K.C., Tuma Young, K.C., The Honorable Judge Kael McKenzie, Professor Samuel Singer, Frances Mahon, Zachary Rudge, Doug Stollery, C.M., K.C., Florence Ashley and Jonathan Griffith. Attendees were also treated to a welcome message from CBA President Steeves Bujold.
The Section would like to extend its deepest gratitude to the speakers, organizers, and CBA staff who brought this event together and made it such a success.

HERO/ALLY AWARD NOMINATIONS OPEN!
Nominations are now open for the 2023 CBA Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Community (SOGIC) Section’s Hero and Ally Awards.
Both awards recognize excellence within the Canadian legal profession in advancing the cause of equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and two-spirited people.
