READY FOR A NEW EXPERIENCE? TRY EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING!
I’m excited to announce a new CBA resource just for us law students called Learning Law in Place. It’s all about bridging the law school learning environment (with which we’re all familiar) with learning through practical work experience. It comes with a handy Workbook that will help us get the most out of our real world learning opportunities, wherever they may arise.
What’s the point, you may ask? The answer's simple: it will help us become better lawyers.
Learning Law in Place will develop our reflective practice skills, engage us in discussions of access to justice and help us navigate the complex practical, ethical and emotional challenges that come with the world of lawyering.
Sounds great, right? So just who should use this Workbook? If you see your legal practice situation in the list below, the answer is YOU!
- Internships/externships
- Student legal clinic work
- Pro bono placements
- Law-related summer or part-time jobs
- Project-based law classes
- Simulation exercises or problem-based learning
- Articling placement
- All other law-practice-related tasks
