Dear Section members,
The CBA National Civil Litigation Section is Canada’s leading association of civil litigation lawyers. Our Section is interested in the law of civil procedure and the administration of civil justice in all Canadian courts, with a focus on court jurisdiction, procedure and organization, and the practice of lawyers before the courts. Check out our webpage and find out who is on the 2016-2017 executive.
We are looking for members to submit relevant and current articles on civil litigation issues for publication on our website. This is a great opportunity for lawyers of every vintage to give back to the profession. If you are interested, please send an email to cbacivillit@cba.org by March 31, 2017 to submit your articles.

The National Class Action Database gives easy access to court documents for class action lawsuits currently underway across the country.
The database assists lawyers, courts and the public with the challenges presented by multi-jurisdictional class actions and reduces uncertainty for those presumptively included in more than one class action and subject to conflicting court judgements. It also informs counsel about the size and composition of class membership in a given class action, and judges on the class member’s bound by their decisions.
Section members can access the latest resources, submissions, programs, activities, news and articles relating to civil litigation through the Section webpage.
The CBA’s Skilled Lawyer Series has a new litigation stream to help lawyers hone the essential skills they need at every stage of the litigation process – from the initial client intake meeting, and through the various steps leading to settlement or a final judgement in court: Essential Skills for Litigators.
