ABOUT US
Mack Law Corporation is a wholly Indigenous-owned and operated law firm located on W̱SÁNEĆ territory. Partner and founder Leah Mack and the firm work together to provide thoughtful, practical, and clear legal advice to Indigenous communities, individuals, and organizations in British Columbia and across Canada. We strive to prioritize Indigenous legal methods in conjunction with Canadian law, in an effort to promote improved services, supports, and outcomes for Indigenous peoples.
As a firm, we are passionate about cultural safety and humility, and strongly believe in justice and fairness. Our varied skills and backgrounds have allowed us to form a close-knit group of legal professionals that works hard to deliver the expert advice, options, and tools for our clients.
In addition to working with Indigenous communities and people directly, we also provide support to non-Indigenous organizations working with Indigenous communities, ensuring collaboration on important issues involving the sea, the land and the sky. We pride ourselves on focusing on clients and files that give back to the community and protect the environment for future generations. We also provide general legal services to other clients in the areas of employment law, business law, and the odd litigation file.
POSITION
We are currently seeking an experienced Associate Lawyer to join us. The ideal candidate will hold LLB/JD with 8-10+ years of experience in a related field, as well as be a member in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia. This individual will have a passion for scaling client relationships and networking. A strong working knowledge of MS365, Adobe Acrobat, and Unity Accounting (formerly EsiLaw) is also required.
Experience in Indigenous / Aboriginal law or expertise in the areas of Indigenous rights, governance, justice, governance, CFS, land use planning, and housing would be an asset but is not a requirement. Membership in one or more other law societies (within Canada) would also be considered an asset. We encourage candidates who are Indigenous to self-identify on their application.
Travel requirement: Please note that in order to provide appropriate services to our clients, we often travel to their communities, which can, at times, include remote areas across Canada and on relatively short notice. As such, all associates should expect to travel as needed.

Please also note that while we strive to maintain a strong work/life balance, we are also a small firm – this means that our team members tend to wear many hats in the office.
