Blaney McMurtry LLP has an immediate opening for an associate with 2 - 5 years of experience to join our busy Health Law - Insurance Litigation Practice Groups.
The successful candidate will handle the defence of College complaints, investigations and discipline files for many different regulated health professionals, and the work will also involve fitness to practice proceedings, professional certification applications, appeals and judicial reviews.
The candidate will also handle and work on health related litigation files, including the defence of medical malpractice claims against various health practitioners and clinics. This will involve drafting assessments, pleadings and litigation/dispute resolution support.
Strong academic credentials, exceptional research, drafting, writing and analytical skills, negotiation and advocacy skills, and proven client service and practice management skills are essential. Preference will be given to candidates with a background and/or interest in health law and also those having a science degree.
