Architecture firm seeks experienced attorney based in Toronto. Adamson Associates, a large architecture firm, seeks an attorney in Toronto to advise our Toronto and Vancouver offices and affiliated offices in New York, Los Angeles, and London. You’ll work with our General Counsel on: contract review, drafting, and negotiation; firm licensing, insurance, and risk matters; minimizing and resolving disputes; and advising on company policies and on various legal issues that arise on major design and construction projects in Canada, the US, the UK, and around the world.
Requirements include a legal degree (J.D. / L.L.B.) and 5 to 20 years legal experience. Transactional and contracts experience (real estate, corporate, etc.) is strongly preferred. Experience with architecture or engineering contracts is a plus. Salary and title commensurate with experience and skills.
The ideal candidate is a careful and analytical reader and a clear writer with excellent communication and listening skills who can provide succinct and commonsense advice to senior management team. Organizational skills are needed to manage multiple and shifting company legal obligations.
