Roger Martin, Dean of the Rotman School of Management and author of The Opposable Mind, will deliver the opening address and share his strategies on integrative thinking on Monday, April 15 at 8 a.m. during the Canadian Corporate Counsel Association's (CCCA) National Spring Conference, taking place April 14-16 at the Hilton Toronto.

Nominations are being sought for the Canadian Bar Association (CBA)’s Stephen Hanson Awards for Excellence in Journalism (formerly the Justicia Awards).

Janet Fuhrer of Ottawa has won the election for incoming Second Vice-President of the CBA. The position is the first step on the ladder to the national presidency, a post she will assume in Aug. 2015.

The Canadian Bar Association (CBA) is contributing to Parliament’s review of the Conflict of Interest Act, making recommendations that would fine-tune the accountability of current and former public office holders including politicians, senior public servants, and order in council appointees. The CBA also recommends that other officials not currently required to report, such as the governor of the Bank of Canada, be added to those already subject to oversight by the Ethics Commissioner.

Elaine Keenan Bengts of Yellowknife, NWT, has been named the winner of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA)’s 2013 Douglas Miller Award. The award was presented on Feb. 16 at the CBA Mid-Winter Meeting of Council.
