TORONTO - The Foundation for Legal Research has awarded the 2017 Walter Owen Book Prize to Caitlin Pakosh, senior staff lawyer at Innocence Canada, for the book The Lawyer’s Guide to the Forensic Sciences, published in 2016 by Irwin Law.

Inspired, conceived, and edited by Ms. Pakosh, The Lawyer’s Guide to the Forensic Sciences offers a comprehensive examination of issues — specific to the legal system — affecting forensic sciences in Canada today.

Quote:

“Incontestably, this text has become the seminal introductory treatment of the principal forensic sciences; invaluably serving those committed to life in the law either above, or in, the well of a court — both criminal and civil.”

-David C. Day, Q.C., member of the selection committee
