TORONTO – The Canadian Bar Association’s (CBA) Canadian Corporate Counsel Association (CCCA) has announced that Jonathan Cullen of Kirkland, QC is the winner of the 2016 CCCA Up and Comer Award.
Recognizing a CCCA in-house member with less than 15 years in-house who demonstrates strong participation at any level within the profession, the CCCA, and the organization that they serve, the 2016 Up and Comer Award will be presented to Jonathan Cullen, Vice-President, Legal Affairs & General Counsel at Pfizer Canada Inc.
Cullen joined the company in 2008, having previously practiced IP litigation at Norton Rose Fulbright. He is responsible for leading the Legal and Corporate Governance & Process Optimization teams across all business units in Canada, as well as supporting research and manufacturing operations. He also oversees Pfizer’s global relationship with one of its key law firms for all matters worldwide.
Cullen has authored a number of publications, including the leading text on Anton Piller orders in the Federal Court, and sits on Innovative Medicines Canada’s IP Core Team. He is also heavily involved in his community, volunteering at the Montreal Children’s Hospital Awards and sitting on the Board of Directors for the West Island Association for the Intellectually Handicapped. Peers describe Cullen as thoughtful, hardworking, and a team player.
The Up and Comer Award will be presented at the CCCA’s 2016 National Conference during the afternoon of Monday, April 4, 2016 in Calgary, AB, along with CCCA’s other awards.
