Calgary — The Canadian Bar Association’s (CBA) Canadian Corporate Counsel Association (CCCA) has announced that Michael Jason of Winnipeg, Corporate Counsel at Richardson International Limited, is the winner of the 2014 CCCA Up and Comer Award.
The award recognizes a CCCA in-house member with less than 15 years in-house experience who demonstrates strong participation within the profession, the CCCA and the organization that he or she serves.
An avid volunteer, Michael Jason dedicates his time to the Manitoba Bar Association CCCA subsection, the CCCA’s Advocacy and Professional Development Committees, and many other CBA groups. Outside the CBA and CCCA, he is treasurer of the Children’s Hospital Book Market, and a true driving force and role model for his peers.
Highly respected by colleagues and the legal community, he represents the best qualities of a lawyer, and a leader.
The award will be presented to Michael Jason at the CCCA’s Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony on Monday, April 7, 2014 in Calgary. This event is part of the 2014 CCCA National Conference.
Media accreditation for the dinner and the conference may be obtained by contacting Hannah Bernstein at hannahb@cba.org.
An integral group within the 37,500-member CBA, the CCCA is dedicated to supporting and enhancing the interests of Canadian corporate counsel. CCCA provides uniquely Canadian perspectives, resources, tools, professional development, conferences and peer-to-peer networking opportunities. The CCCA has some 4,500 in-house counsel members.
