TORONTO – The Canadian Bar Association’s (CBA) Canadian Corporate Counsel Association (CCCA) will hold its National Spring Conference April 14-16, 2013 at the Hilton Toronto. Keynote speakers include Fortune 500 veteran and past General Counsel of Starbucks Coffee Company, Paula Boggs, and the Judge Advocate General of the Canadian Forces, Major-General Blaise Cathcart, CD.
As 2013 marks the CCCA’s 25th Anniversary, the theme of the conference is 25 Years of In-House Excellence. The conference features plenaries and workshops on topics including Responding to Executive Misconduct, Managing and Protecting Privacy and Data, Working with your Risk Management Department, and Business Writing for Lawyers. On Sunday, April 14, the CCCA will host a gala dinner and awards ceremony, where the winner of the annual R.V.A. Jones Award will be announced. Four new awards are being introduced and will be announced by the CCCA at this year’s gala. They are the Community Builder Award, Professional Contribution Award, Special Contribution Award, and Up and Comer Award.
The results of the 2013 In-House Counsel Barometer Survey will be released on Monday, April 15 during an afternoon plenary.
