The Canadian Bar Association is partnering with MaRS' legal innovation cluster LegalX to launch an event at the CBA’s Legal Conference this summer in Ottawa.

Many of the provincial law societies are currently deliberating on whether (and if so, how) to implement some form of entity regulation in their jurisdictions.

The Canadian Bar Association has adopted model business principles to combat forced labour, labour trafficking and illegal or harmful child labour that will help lawyers in private practice and in-house counsel to encourage their business clients to guard against labour abuses in their operations.

The President of the Canadian Bar Association, Janet Fuhrer of Ottawa, will visit CBA-Yukon (CBA-Y) in Whitehorse from Feb.24 to 26, where she will speak to lawyers about improving access to justice issues, particularly as they affect Indigenous people.
