Podcasts have been around for the better part of two decades but it’s only been in the last few years – partly due to the influence of the NPR podcast Serial – that they’ve really taken off.
In October, the CBA entered the fray with The Every Lawyer (and in French, Juriste branché). We are starting to build a catalogue of podcasts we hope you will find useful and interesting all at the same time.
According to estimates, there are currently more than 550,000 podcasts available from Apple alone, with more than 18.5 million episodes to listen to – and that number is climbing every day.
Confronted with such a vast banquet of possibilities, it can be difficult to find a good podcast, one that is well-written and well-presented, on a topic relevant to your interests.
The CBA podcast channel will feature streams aimed at young lawyers and law students (the first two episodes, based on Solution Series webinars, are Let’s talk Wellness and Let’s talk Personal Branding). The first Jurist branché podcast is about mentoring. Coming soon will be podcasts focused on small and solo practitioners, based on an innovation tool for that group that became available in October. CBA President Ray Adlington will also have his own series, called Conversations with the President, where he’ll talk with members and others about diversity and inclusivity.
CBA podcasts will be published bi-weekly on Apple Podcast, Stitcher and everywhere you usually find your podcasts.
We’re sure you’ll hear good stories from interesting guests, and pick up valuable insights, whatever your area of practice, or whatever your experience. Listen, and tell us what you think about what you’ve heard – or what you’d like to hear next.
