With just days to go before the submission deadline, startups are working hard to get their ideas into The Pitch, the legaltech startup competition that gives entrepreneurs the chance to get in front of investors, test the market and win some great prizes.
After the Feb. 23 cutoff, submissions will be graded by an expert panel of virtual judges with varied backgrounds in law, business, entrepreneurship and legal innovation. The startups with the five highest scores will then move on to The Pitch on May 1, where they will get seven minutes to sell their innovative ideas in front of a live audience, and an additional five minutes for questions from a panel of in-person judges.
All five finalists are guaranteed an interview with Nextlaw Ventures, an early stage venture investor that focuses exclusively on legal technology. The lucky first-place winner will get a coveted opportunity to pitch to a Nextlaw Ventures Managing Director, and the potential opportunity to demo their offerings to selected NLV subject matter experts for valuable input. They will also receive up to $120K of free IBM Cloud and Watson Cognitive Computing services and tech support.
You won’t want to miss this opportunity to check out the latest and greatest in the legal innovation space. The Pitch off the CCCA National Conference and ICW Summit in Toronto and is free for members to attend.
