Jennifer Johnson, who began working with the CBA in January, has worked in international development for the past 18 years.
Starting with the UN in Khartoum in 1991, Jennifer crossed Africa working with the United Nations (UNDP, OCHA, UNICEF and WFP). She was country director with War Child Holland; programme director with War Child Canada; country director with Arbeiter Samaritar Bund; and once again country director with Plan International, a job which took her to in war-torn and drought-affected countries including Northern and Southern Sudan, Angola, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Kenya, Uganda and Mozambique.
Jennifer has also trained military officers readying for deployment in Afghanistan and Iraq on civil/military relations and humanitarian law and recently worked with World University Service of Canada as the Manager of Program Development.
She is the mother of three – two teenage boys, Alessio and Gabriele, and a third “son,” Chester, a misbehaving Jack Russell.
