Doron Gold, a co-author of the CBA’s free online course Mental Health and Wellness in the Legal Profession, is the winner of this year’s CBA Wellness Award.
CBA President René Basque made the announcement at the meeting of the CBA Wellness Forum in Halifax in November, saying Doron is known for his knowledge, his compassion and his willingness to help lawyers improve their lives.
Doron was one of two experts involved in developing the online course in partnership between the CBA, Mood Disorders Society of Canada and Bell Let’s Talk. Since it was launched in 2015, the course has had more than 1,500 participants.
Doron practised law for 10 years, primarily as a family and civil litigator. Now a staff clinician at Toronto’s Homewood Health, he is a registered social worker, a certified professional coach and a psychotherapist who has spent nearly seven years helping lawyers, law students, judges and their immediate family members with issues such as addiction, depression, anxiety and career stress.
