The CBA’s Immigration Law Section applauds the spirit of a Parliamentary Committee study on temporary foreign workers. In a letter sent December 13, the Section took the opportunity to comment on five areas that require further consideration:
- Separating programs based on skill levels, to attract high-skill workers and better protect low-skill workers
- Improving service and predictability for Canadian businesses
- Increasing flexibility to take into account industry norms and business realities
- Sharing information to harmonize immigration programs
- Increasing program efficiency and integrity
The letter was sent to Employment Minister MaryAnne Mihychuk and Immigration Minister John McCallum.
