The second and third tranches of resolutions at CBA Council meeting in Ottawa on Thursday saw a great deal more discussion, largely because a major resolution, 16-01-A dealt with matters at the heart of the association itself, a proposal to change the CBA’s governance system that itself was the culmination of more than two years’ hard work by the Re-Think steering committee. The resolution to adopt a new system of governance was finally passed after a great deal of discussion and debate over wording and particulars, which is only reasonable, since Council members were in effect voting to get rid of themselves.
