Description

The City of Toronto's Legal Services Division is looking for a lawyer to join its collegial team of 40 litigators handling complex matters on behalf of all City divisions and many City agencies. You will represent the City in challenging disputes relating to a diverse range of important City projects and defend the varied commercial, human rights, personal and property damage claims the City receives. With a commitment to excellence, you will develop your skills while advancing the interests of the City and its residents in this 18 month contract position. 

We are looking for a person who can step right in and handle a wide range of files with sound judgment and excellent advocacy and negotiation skills and will consider applicants in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario with at least three years experience. In your application, please highlight your experience handling human rights, personal and property damage, and/or contractual claims; prior experience in these areas is an asset.
