Editorial Board of the Canadian Bar Review

Mandate

The Editorial Board of the Canadian Bar Review (CBR) advises the CBR’s Editors and editorial staff on all matters relating to the journal’s success. The Editorial Board provides scientific and scholarly input, oversight, contacts and support to the Canadian Bar Review.

Members

The Chair, two CBA members, the Chief Executive Officer of the CBA or their designate, and the Editors, who are non-voting members of the Editorial Board.

Members are appointed for three-year terms and are eligible for reappointment for up to two consecutive terms. The CBA Governance and Equity Committee appoints members following application. The CBA Board of Directors may also appoint members or fill vacancies as required.

Appointments shall consider Canada’s common law, civil law and Indigenous legal traditions, Canada’s official languages and the regional nature of the Association’s membership.

We invite applications to fill two positions.

Qualifications

Editorial Board members possess subject expertise representative across the spectrum of the publication’s aims and scope.

Members are committed to open access, data sharing and innovation in legal and scholarly publishing.

Members will preserve and enhance the journal’s reputation as a trusted source of legal scholarship that helps shape the discussion on the relevant legal issues of our time.

Commitment

10 hours per year and includes one Editorial Board Meeting in Ottawa in the Fall.
