 ne of the cornerstone events held in British Columbia during Law Week is the annual Barry Sullivan Law Cup public speaking contest. The competition is sponsored by the Canadian Bar Association British Columbia Branch and is open to students enrolled in grades 11-12 in British Columbia. The Law Cup is named in memory of Barry Sullivan in recognition of his contributions to both the legal and educational professions. The Law Cup is presented to the provincial winner of the competition.
The 2011 competition was held from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, April 14, 2011 in the Heritage Courtroom at the Vancouver Art Gallery, 750 Hornby Street in Vancouver, British Columbia. Students presented five minute speeches that pertained to the 2011 theme "Access to Justice: Can justice be achieved outside the courtroom?".

The finalists were judged by The Honourable Associate Chief Justice Anne MacKenzie of the Supreme Court of British Columbia, UBC Law Professor Elizabeth Edinger and Vancouver Sun columnist Peter McKight.
