Newsletter
Please consider providing a submission for the next edition. We are looking for articles of interest to Forum members:
- Updates on recent/upcoming activities including substantive developments in your jurisdiction;
- Case summaries;
- New legislation;
- Articles about your personal/professional experience as a public sector lawyer.
Here are a few guidelines to help:
- Articles only need to be between 300 and 1,000 words;
- Articles over 1,000 words must be accompanied by a summary or précis (100-300 words);
- Articles can be submitted in French or English.
Please send your submissions to me at debbie.hackett@gnb.ca . Please also canvass your co-workers and colleagues and ask if they would be interested in making a submission to the newsletter.

Purpose and objects
The Forum is a platform for CBA members who are employed as lawyers at various levels of government or in public sector agencies.
Its objectives are to:
- Provide mechanisms for public sector lawyers to exchange information and ideas;
- Serve as a national network to enable public sector lawyers to connect on shared issues;
- Advance the understanding of the roles played by public sector lawyers;
- Raise the profile of its members by ensuring public sector lawyers interests are represented within the CBA;
- Bring to the CBA the unique perspective of practicing law within a government setting;
- Serve as the national voice of public sector lawyers within the activities of the Forum and those of the CBA;
- Promote networking and delivery of programs through the Forum’s provincial and territory branches.
Please use the links on the menu on the left to learn more about the Forum. The PSLF publishes a newsletter, The Forum, twice a year with articles of interest to public sector lawyers, including profiles of individual lawyers and developments in Crown compensation across the country. We also give an annual award, the John Tait Award of Excellence.
