Most practising lawyers would agree that dependable, efficient support staff are essential to the continued success of any law office.  Whether you are a new lawyer starting out, established practitioner or somewhere in between, you can’t afford to miss this session.  As staffing costs are generally the greatest single expense, finding ways to maximize staffing resources can improve the bottom line significantly and help you ride out difficult economic times.

The presenters, an experienced practitioner and her long-time law clerk explore these issues together providing participants with both management and staff perspectives.   Helpful tips and strategies for maximizing your staffing investment are provided.  Some of the topics explored include:
 

  • why maintaining training programs, especially during a rough economy, demonstrates a commitment to staff development  and allows the firm to serve clients better
  • how the use of technology can increase the quality and quantity of the firm's output while reducing costs
  • why and how to delegate tasks to allow you to focus on billable work 
  • what are the keys to retaining valuable, experienced staff and establishing your firm as 'the place to work' 
  • using outsourcing services or virtual assistants to help you through lean and boom times
